Revitalising Kerikeri
Some locals feel that Kerikeri has been in decline, with many retail locations not well looked after by landlords. One of the prime locations in town, previously home to Bunnings and originally the base of New World in Kerikeri, had become worn down and was no longer a place to be proud of. However, local community members have joined forces to breathe new life into this location, aiming to transform it into the thriving centre of Kerikeri once again.

Fenced town
In the middle of February 2025, the centre of Kerikeri will be fenced off for our protection as a group of local entrepreneurs come together to create a new icon at Fairway Drive. Using the old New World building as a base, a new structure will rise that not only meets modern standards and sustainability but also adds beauty to the town. Before the rebuild can commence, a significant portion of the current building will need to be demolished. To ensure the safety of passersby, the site will be completely fenced off this coming week. The demolition activities are expected to continue for the next 4-6 weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transformation!

The Square is now ready to take applications for the new retail spaces at Fairway Drive. Our vision is to transform the retail landscape into a high-end shopping destination where the experience is as important as the shopping itself. Retailers who can meet this demand are the future, fulfilling the need for entertainment, quality products, and exceptional customer service. We are looking for quality food and delicatessen stores, fashion stores, outdoor and camping stores, furniture stores, and beauty and health places. However, if you have any other innovative ideas, please let us know. The Square is seeking entrepreneurs who share this vision and see the new sustainable building as a springboard to bring their ideas to life. Please contact us for applications and share your ideas.
